Zero and Up

Why "Zero and Up"?
Zero and Up applies to many aspects of blogging: your visitors, subscribers, earnings, etc. No matter where you are with your blog, there's always room for improvement. Hopefully, Zero and Up will be a resource to help you take your websites upward, even if it's all the way from zero!

Email Subscribers make your blog look more popular

Most everyone who uses RSS knows about the bandwagon effect. The bandwagon effect is as simple as this: the more people subscribed to a blog, the more likely a person is to click and subscribe as well. Simple logic would lead you from there to believe that you want as many RSS subscribers as possible in order to influence as many more people as possible to become RSS subscribers; it creates a sort of snowball effect.

This is all very true. So then, why are those who subscribe to your feed via email likely to be more valuable than those who subscribe through any of the other feedburner avenues?

The “secret” is that for all of the feed-readers, feedburner only counts people who read your content that day to go towards that day’s subscription count. On the other hand, those who signed up for your website through email are always counted towards your total unless they unsubscribe or close their email account. By encouraging your readers to sign up for your feed via email, there is a very good chance that your feed subscription count will stay consistently higher than it would otherwise.

From your pal over a Dudango.com wishing you all the luck, let’s grow together and become filthy rich >=D My blog is young, but yours I see is younger. Though you seem to have more more readers, I’ll admit I’ve been slow to my promoting but I like the look of your site, it needs a bit more beef with ads and what not, I’d say. Try Kontera text link and make a few 125X125 advertise here buttons at a nice cheap rate increasing it monthly with the readership. Just trying to help. The best of lucky to you and I’m enjoying your content. Contact me VIA e-mail and lets chat a little more.

Hiding your RSS subscriber count always helps at first, then once you have them show it off ;)
